People are getting "Staging" mixed up with "Damage Level" -- happens
lots
here, didn't you notice? :) I guess what he means is that the Steyr AUG in
its various forms has varying damages (as would be logical, at least within
the SR game system), but the carbine variant goes against its own logic, IMHO.
The carbine has a shorter barrel than the assault rifle, but does 7S damage
as opposed to 8M for the rifle. The LMG has an even longer barrel, but still
does 8M and has a shorter range than the rifle. I would propose the
following solution:
VARIANT DAMAGE RANGE BAND AMMO TYPE
Submachine Gun 6M SMG SMG
Carbine 7M LMG Assault Rifle
Assault Rifle 8M Assault Rifle Assault Rifle
Light MG 7S Sporting Rifle LMG
This way, the damage only goes up when the barrel gets longer, as do the
maximum ranges. It does require some more thinking than normal, though.
