the field, after all, if this is a competition, there has to be some
way to balance the forfes, so that strategy, tactics and player
(soldier !) skill plays an important part in the outcome, not mere
weight of numbers and extreme force.
Do they use a points system ala warhammer (spit)
is their a governing body for the sport (sorry)
do they go on retail price of the gear, and a set number of men
(have a sale, go to desert wars with lots of gear!)
I suspect that most of the wars are smal unit actions, with
the occasional 'supported' tank actions for the big-bangs :-)
the original shadowrun anthology has a Desert wars veteran
Colonel Steely Sam Hampton and his entire unit (!) running around
after they jumped contract (again !) and turned shadow-mercanary.
There were a few hints there, I think. Mostyl small unit stuff
again, though it definitely took place _at least_ partly in urban
environments
Oh yeah, and bet on reflective face-plates for their helmets,
with balaclava's (very light, airy ones ;-)) underneath. No one is
going to see your face unless they have to cut the helmet off
for emergency brain surgery (and then their shouldn;t be much left of
you face anyway ;-)).
KILLING GLARE SPOILER
Hey, we had runners in the Super-Brawl didn't we, and most of it was
televised, until they realised there was a problem and cut the feed.
