The AUG is currently available in either 5.56mm with a variety of
barrel lengths, up to the long heavy-barrel with bipod to make
it a LMG: or a 9mm SMG variant. The two are not readily interchangeable
although the parts are about 70-80% the same.

A number of pistols - I know someone who uses one - can be switched
between calibres, often within minutes. And several military rifles
have conversion kits to let them fire .22LR ammo for training purposes.

Feasable? Yes. Practical? Not really: you'd be much better off for most
purposes using one weapon for all four jobs, just switching barrel lengths.
(The 9mm is for suppressed work and police duty, where high-velocity rifle
rounds are frowned on). It means all you need to do is change the barrel,
rather than strip out the recoil buffer and feed ramp. And you always find
you've grabbed the carbine ammo to try and use with the LMG...

In technical terms he's spot on. From a game balance point of view I
prefer effective pistols: 6M isn't a reliable enough stopper, so
players will run around with SMGs or machine pistols instead.
Although normally I'm a stickler for realism, I feel game balance works
better with 9M and 10M pistols even if it weakens the logic.

When you have shot and killed a man, you have defined your attitude towards
him. You have offered a definite answer to a definite problem. For better
or for worse, you have acted decisively.
In fact, the next move is up to him.
