In shadowrun, there is no real difference between attacking and defending. I
don't see how this could work; do you meen the elementals tn is increased, but
the pc's is not decreased? If the wepon has a reach advantage on "defense"
but not "offense" then just wait for the spirit to come to you (most will at
least attempt an engulf).
