Actually, yes, they are. Under combat: unarmed attacks are (Str)M. A
Manifest spirit's Strength (as are all of it's attributes) is it's
Force, therefore it does (Force)M damage in melee.

Not all, and not always. You have to be very clever in order to make
effective use of a spirit's powers, but the results can be devestating.
Such as having a hearth spirit cause an "accident" in an elevator shaft.
