ok spirit killing time.
Mage, quarterstaff, sorcery 6, willpower 6, ice damaging
manipulation 6M damage (ie eqivalent to flamethrower, effect only
depends on type of spirit target.)

ok use earth elemental as has +1 reach so nastiest!

ok spirit attacks skill 16 at 4's +1 outreached comes to about 5
success.

mage uses willpower at 4's - 1 reach = 3's gets 4, and i assume
karmas the fragging thing, for the last 2. Ok 6 he hits!, i assume no
injury to spirit [that is being very kind to the spirit i may add
most would be outreached by 2 and could well take damage from this]

now mage, force 6 spell, + 6 magic pool = 12 dice target 4's!! gets 6
success.

ok force 16 + 4 (body bonus)= 20 dice at 6's, will get 3

6M + 3 success is a serious!

drain is 4S on 6 dice, not funny by 1 karma point is an L stun and if
you spent one on attack for a reeroll and got 9 success the spirit
would die despite going first for 3 karma points and an l (oh
shocking) stun, and thats a startup strength mage and not even a good
one just average!

now just pay attention to damaging manipulations, many thing get no
armour against them and most folks get 1/2 impact !!! never mind the
elemental side effects roll.<grin as the flamthrower spell hit s the
merc, now is it the belt of lmg ammo or the IPE grenade thats going
to fail it first BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
