Who's to say we aren't all as strong as out racial Maximum
but are unaware of this strength until we have the balls
and the confidence to try to perform that certain skill.

yep anything over racial max = new score x 2

There is nothing wrong with mikes...
and if you have characters that like to max out stat's and then have
a hard time challenging them then your just being to easy on them.

granted a normal runner should be tougher that 2 gangers
so an average gang of 12 should be about average difficulty
to a shadowrunning group (*in most games* not yours Marc)
but once you add the ability to call for more gangers
hand to hand friends in combat, real weapons - not streetline
specials (including Full Auto/Burst - with recoil comp)
and maybe *in a rough area* someone with a sniper rifle or
the gang's shaman friend(s) *with spirit(s)*.
that 6 body will be required to keep alive from bullets
that 6 quickness will be required to run away
that 6 strength will be required to punch through their
impact armor
that 6 charisma will be required to banish/summon/talk your
way out of a jam
that 6 int wll be required to notice the sniper and take cover
that 6 willpower will be required to resist spells/fight spirits

(all of these stats keep them alive they don't make them too powerful
they just make them overconfident)
A body of 12 on a troll won't help him resist a mage casting willpower
spells at him - but it will help when that mage successfully cast's
control actions on him and he then tries to kill his teammates.
a strength of 12 won't help a troll get to a mage levitating 40 ft off
the ground
