Good point. In real life, I'd guess that most ordinary players, having
built up 66 points of Karma over a period of time, would neither max out
Attributes NOR take one particular skill to its logical extreme, but instead
would distribute their Karma points over a varying range of Attributes and
skills. If they're magicians, they'd probably throw most of it into spells
and foci (at least, I probably would.)
ANY one aspect, taken to its logical extreme, can be imbalancing. That's
why the game mechanics tend to round out extremes. The players can get
there, but they have to sacrifice, and most players (as opposed to most
characters) don't have the Willpower. They try to broaden their characters
out instead of maximizing one thing. In the case of Attributes, I
personally would RATHER they took one or two to the extreme rather than
pushing all of them into jack-of-all-trades mastery. But that's personal
role-playing taste.

I don't think it's illogical, but I think most players won't bother, for
the reason you stated: skills have better survival value. In the campaign
I'm starting right now, I've seen a trend of most players putting Resources
as high on the list as possible. Seems they want to start with all the
toys.

Nifty! I'm enjoying this discussion too.. As a relatively new GM I'm
learning a lot by having to think about these things.
