I am definately of this mind- my starting samurai usually have $a, stat b,
race c, and skills d. Allergys often go 50- 50 to skills and stats.
Then I get hit, and everyone, including the gm, wonders how I survived, and
better yet, manage to heal within two days without magical assistance. And
yess, they all have skillwires, but it doesn't come into use as much as I'd
expect. With any sort of house dodge system, a high combat pool is like unto
magic. And I just personally like very high reactions. Not that I am saying
this is better than any other caracter type- our team has some outragious
specialists (one guy is really specialized socially. not bad with a gun, but
paste in a real fight)

I agree, and have karma just sitting waiting for a use (actually have to save
to raise skills). Except that, after a certain point, skills don't really
need to be higher. Maybe others differ, but 13 dice on firearmas does everything
I need.
