I've played out situations of:
Your walking down the side walk, it's late, about two in the morning. At
the mouth of the alley you can hear some sort of a struggle going on and
what seems to be a woman screaming. What do you do? I have yet to have a
player say: "I just keep walking."
There has also been the time, I told a character he raped someone. At
that point in time, I *STOPPED* and said, "well, rape may be to strong of a
word." (It was one of those cases of, "No. Don't stop!" and changed into:
"No, don't stop!") It took an hour to get the point across.
I do want to point out, in Marc's letter, he did say: "Both situations were a
simple example of someone angrily exerting power over another when they knew
they could get away with it." So at least he is aware of the difference.
