so no flames for the wrong date) and the transition to a completely new
tech, like optical computers?

I'm sure that MS would still be there, 'cos they have the resources,
probably most of those companies will make it. The real question is, will
they survive unscathed?
I don't think so. Otherwise, our deckers would be arguing about which is
better - the new P-29, or the Powerdeck. And we would all be on the
MSmatrix! Meanwhile, Fuchi would be the choice of those weird unix
hackers ;-)
