If you read the SRII chapter on contacts (I think it is called contacts -
pretty sure in fact), they have quite a good explanation.
basically, a contact is somebody with whom you have worked before. you
know each other, and you trust each othr - to a point. generally, the
idea is that you don't ask too much, and you can rely on them. put them
in danger, though...
