The way I decided Dragon's come(I haven't seen any answers, does
any Shadowrun books say?) from is Astral Space. Similar to Insect
Spirits, they take over bodies of living things, but they take over
non-intelligent bodies, which is why there're the Western, Feathered,
etc. They can only take certain species, however, and it takes time for
them to 'mutate' or magically manipulate the body so it fits their astral
presence, and they're weak at that time.
My runners were hired to blow up a building, and they did(they
don't mind wetwork.) Then, they saw a small(about 8' at shoulder) dragon
fly out and attack 'em...they almost beat it, for it wasn't full size
yet, but it kept getting BIGGER. They buggered out, and now they have a
VERY intelligent and manipulative(shoulda just said dragon, neh?) foe
against them...they've already been setup so MCT and Renraku want their
head(Draggy 'hired' them to do something, and made sure the corps knew
about it, and the runners were supposed to destroy a small
building...which they didn't know was high-security.) Big mess...;)
