}Ok, here is somethint that has been bothering me for a while.
}When you create a character, and allocate your skills, you use the
}general/concentration/specialisation, and allocate points as follows
}(yes, I know that I am restating rules that everyone knows backwards, but
}I just want to be absolutely clear)
}
}general skill : no. of points allocated
}gen./conc. : -1/+1
}gen./conc./spec : -2/allocated/+2
}
}Now, what happens when you spend your karma on a general skill?
}say you have firearms/HP/predator 4/6/8
}you spend 10 karma on firearms.
}do you now have 5/6/8 or does the bonus benefit everything? (ie 5/7/9)
^ (I assume you mean 4)

In our campaign, once you have either a concentration or
specialization we consider it to be a 'seperate skill' as such,
although the costs are different ie x1 for specialization, x1.5 for
concentration x2 for general. ie the individual in the above example
could with 10 Karma either raise his Preditor to 9 (1 karma over),
can't raise his concentration 7*1.5 (Rnd up) = 11, or his general as
6*2 = 12.

}I have always played the first way, but it doesn't seem realistic.
}surely, if you train with firearms in general, that means that you are
}better at *all* firearms, including your predator?

Your argument does have merit. I can honestly say that I cannot
dispute it, other than the fact that it can result in a munchkinned
character. After all you're getting 2 dice for free with a
specilization, if you have to just push your general skill up at two
levels lower. With brings up another point, what if the character has
a dual specialization and concerntration. ie two different guns
assuming -2 to general skill, well work out the numbers, I would go
for a triple specilzation, ie general firearms at 0. Spend 1 Karma to
raise it to 1. 1 extra die in each specilization, spend 11 Karma and
there is a 3 die general skill and each of the 3 specilizations have
11 dice.

By the way if any of these rules seem unique or different, its 'cause
we're using house rules, I ain't read the rule book in a long time..
