Then why the hell did they make a armor system that either demands to be
ignored or else demands a hit location system.
I'm talking about the new Cyberlimb plating from the cybertechnology book.
You can buy armor at 10000 or 25000 yen a armor point, but you have to
buy for all five sections of the body to be effective.
The five sections are your arms, head, legs, chest and back.
You must add up their rating and divide them by 5 to get the overall
armor rating (round down). And if any of the ratings is four higher then
the rating of any of the other sections it should not count.
So what's the effect of an armored cybertorso, you should think it's at
least just as effective as an armored vest (protected chest and back no arms)
Giving the back and chest all a plating ratio of 4 (same as vest) would
leave us with a calculated rating of (yes, here it comes) 1. Wowie !
An armor rating of 1 for the small fee of only 80000 yen for the soft
variant or 200000 for the hard variant. For the same price you could also
buy mill-spec armor wiith 14 points of hard armor, but never mind that.
Maybe I'm interpreting these rules wrong but this can't be right.
