imo, no.

all earth-based magic ceases to function when separated from earth's
mana field, which is a consequence of the life on earth. get too far
away from life and the mana field diminishes. eventually one gets far
enough away that the mana field is too weak to support the channels
necessary to draw mana from the Source in order to perform magic. you
can try to perform the magic using your _internal_ mana (life
force/essence), but you don't have very much, and can't do anything
more than the most trivial of things.

this seems a bit fuzzy, so if it doesn't make sense don't blame
yourself.
