Cannot dispute that. But are you sure our opinions diverge that much? As
far as I'm concerned, Sam displayed very much Dog behaviour, which you
claim to be the factor that founded their friendship. I personally cannot
put a sharp "No that at all" fence between the liking of a displayed
behaviour and the liking of the being that displays that behaviour.
Ofcourse, if Sam had been acting as to fool his surroundings, these
concepts would not be similar, but as Sam did not decieve Ghost, I
believe the borderline between the concepts to be rather blurred.

Once again, I cannot completely disagree with you. But what came first, the
egg or the chicken? As you will remember, Ghost at first refused to help Sam
keeping an eye on his sister, but changed his mind when Sam told that she
was Wolf Totem, which also is Ghosts totem. I do not think that Ghost would
have bothered had he not felt a certain kinship towards Janice, because of
their shared totem.
