Hi Folks !
My shaman thought about learning the "Ram" spell, but I discovered
something strange:
When you read the spell description, it says: "Successes from the
casting are added to the spell's force, which is then compared to the
target's Barrier Rating to determine the effect. See Barriers
p.98. The target's Barrier Rating is halved as indicated.", but when
you take a lok at page 98 it says: "Against combat magic spells,
barriers use twice their normal rating.".
Now I'm wondering which statement is right... does this mean that for
USUAL combat spells the barrier rating is doubled, but for the "Ram"
spell it is halved (which is the way I would read it) ?
If you use the normal Barrier Rating or twice the Barrier Rating, the
"Ram" spell would be pretty useless (you don't have to cast a spell at
that window to open it - you could just kick it open) and for the
Barriers you need to open (Security stuff - which means Barrier
Ratings above 12-14) you are lucky if you only scratch the door by
taking heavy drain if you don't halve the rating.
O.K. - enough babbling for now - how do you handle this ? Is there
maybe another "official" statement covering this ???
Bye...
Georg
