My group is in much the same predicament. We found that one or two really
interesting contacts can be made into buddies. Your buddy may need a
special favor like an assassination or a package delivery. Like in striper
assassin you could spend a few days of game time following and analysing
your target and finally assasinate him or her with flair. Your character
can take a vacation in australia. Life can be interesting on a paranormal
safary, or when a fouled up mission can come back to haunt you. deckers can
spend some time robbing the banks or searching out the ghost of the matrix.


In all what you need is to make an interesting NPC, friend or foe, and play
with it. Your PC's are people too. They have family, enemies and much
more.
