I think the only ways to get background music to suit the scene is when
it's obvious the players are not going anywhere soon so you have the time
to play a CD or tape without it reaching inappropriate music, or having a
5-CD changer and a good knowledge of what's where.
We usually just put on a semi-random CD and turn the volume real low so
it's just background music; that of course means you could be listening to
Therapy? during a romantic moment, but I don't think anybody pays muc
attention to the music anyway...
