It's Vangelis. If you don't like Vangelis, you don't like Vangelis.
I happen to like it. And as for background noise, it's OK for gaming.
My SO has some music called "Djam Karat" or something, and I HATE it;
it sounds like the music represenation of the flu, but he and many
others think it makes great background for SR. Personal tastes, go
figure.
I used to have the demo-tape of someone who did music for films;
it was a selection of themes and it was good SR music; had that movie
feel without conjuring up images from any movie. It got lost though...
