Ok i went and reread the VR2 story.
its called 'things to come' and is apparantly not a shadowland post
no 'from Captain Chaos' headers.

First off
both speakers are in a matrix node : needs at least trode sets
Both claim to be very poor deckers, not good on IC.

Ok I don't think 'Ambrose' is Merlin of Leo (Leonardo / Brightlight)
Merlin would not follow a passion (see final page top right) - both
folks do H'you follow your passion i follow mine'. and could not use
a trode rig no physical brain to interface with. Ok that magical
'paraoptical deck' might solve that one but. Then well Leo has
afformentioned deck, IC whats that, would not rate so low decking.

IT. They note was not arround last time. That means it must be a
'thing of the matrix' so 'IT' is not an immortal elf, free spirt or
anything like that.

Ok thats shot an awful lot down, pity but.

Ok so we have the Ambrose-Merlin link, could therefore Ambrose be
Hessler? 'Black Madonna' establishes him as 'elven illuminati' he has
Merlin as a friend was probably alive in the fourth world and would
probably like Harlequin be a poor decker at best. Any comments.
