Not as far as i know.

By spirt patrol rules the bigger the force the more obvious but as
astral examination is force dependant it must get harder to work out
the details the brighter the things get due to force.

I assume not though the books don't say.
If not this gets added to the 'detect magic' spell as methods for non
initiates to find folks using masking. Hey that guys got an active
magic item according to my detection spell, but i don't see it, um
masked, i wonder!
