It's ok. HOL stands for "Human Occupied Landfill". It was designed by Dirt
Merchant Games and sold under White Wolf's Black Dog Game Studio license.
The concept of the game is that you are on what basically amounts to a
garbage/prison planet. HOL is part of the COW(confederation of worlds)
which isn't a confederation, it's a Empire, which, in reality, is really an
Oligarchy ruled by the mega-Pope and his holy sponk (half spork, half ankh.
The ultimate combat of fast food and religion). The game is for laughs, but
you're laughing at the dark and twisted side of things. The writers biggest
target is, as they put it "We can't say the name for copyright reasons, but
lets just say it sounds like 'truncheons and flagons'" I suggest buying it,
reading it, laughing till you dry heave, and then using some of its
suggestions in other games. If you can control your laughter long enough to
play it, even better. (hey, you've got to love a game that's main book is
broken into two sections called "things you can kill" and "things that can
kill you") If anyone ever happens to run over, er, across me at a con, I'll
probably be running it. If you actually want to go to a con that I'm at so
you can play it, e-mail me privately.
