Not that I'm a big shuriekn officiando, but I have seen shuriken applied
a bit broadly in some martial arts texts. Some define such things as
throwing spikes to be shuriken... but I agree that the term does conjure
up the throwing star motif in my mind... =P

One of our physads has a few shuriken... but he never throws them... he
once used the blade of one to saw off a guy's ear, but that's about it...
