Hey, all this talk about space and in particular the discussion on magic
Up There gave me an idea. According to the Z-O section in Corp
Shadowfiles, there are a few rich tycoons living in Z-O trying to extend
their lifespan. Weeeelllll.... what if the reason it works is something
to do with this oh-so-gradual drain that the mana around the earth has on
the life in it when it is used for sorcery, conjuring, UGE, etc. But I
suppose that doesn't necessarily answer why lifespan before the Awakening
was still 'normal' - if this (almost entirely speculative) theory has
anything to it it would necessitate the dropping of life expectancy as
the mana moved closer to the physical again. Or wouldn't the
life-force of the folks in space be more prone to draining away
into the nothingness? Just a thought.
