Ares Macrotechnology did buy NASA according to the NAGNA, page 50. Also in
Corp Shadowfiles (good for only the last 24 pages), AresSpace was formed
after Ares Macrotech purchased NASA in 2016. AresSpace is headquartered in
Houston, CAS, and is said to be international and operates "regional and
functional subdivisions [whatever that means], such as AresSpace CommSat and
AresSpace Lifters UCAS."
According to a post datestamped 4-10-54 by a decker calling herself Double
Janet, "Ares based its vast aerospace holdings around the old NASA
facilities that Ares Industries acquired from the U.S. government back in
2019. According to the provisions of that deal, Ares agreed to return
elements of the facilities to the U.S. government in 2055. Course, the U.S.
government doesn't exist anymore ..." One of those facilities is the NASA
Bullet Train that makes the Houston-Dallas/Fort Worth-Oklahoma City route.
UniOil is a co-manager of the bullet train along with AresSpace. As far as
I know, Ares still runs the Bullet Train (my game is set in Spring, 2056).
