their domain, then you could have a small number of spirits that "live" in
the given area. For example the shaman who summons a spirit regularly to
guard his dos. Have two to five spirits that are available in the area, so
when the shaman summons the spirit he has a andom chance as to which one he
will get.
Funny story about this.
A coyote shaman in our campaign summoned up the hearth spirit in his new
home. He tried summoning it up at an ungodly force for his experience level,
and I ruled that it went free.
However, since hearth spirits are usually pretty well intentioned toward
metahumanity, this one decided to stay, esp. since the trid was on.
He manifested as Mr. Furley (Don Knotts) from Three's Company fame.
He was more than willing to stick around the doss and keep things cool, as
long as he could watch a little trid at night, and if the folks living in
the house could spare just a few karma?
My players actually willingly fed karma to a free spirit for very little in
exchange!
I'm thinking that just for fun, this could be Tutor's origin in our campaign!
