That's essentially what I wanted to say, only much more streamlined.

Again, IMHO, magic can break the rules. Physics does not have to apply. It's
not science fiction, it's fantasy dressed in a scientific garb!
Sure it makes things easier to understand if magic has easily recognizable
rules, and follows standard laws, but from what I can see FASA is setting us
up to discover that Magic makes it's own laws!
Think about the horrors.
Almost every new SR product in recent months has had at least some passing
reference to Immortal Elves and the coming Enemy.
Anybody wanna take bets that Earthdawn and SR are soon to merge into one big
meta game, or at least have a lot more interaction that they do now?
These creatures don't follow any rules of normal physics.
For that matter SR biotech has no explanation for UGE, other than the THEORY
that mana interacts with DNA to bring about the metatypes.
That's probably not the case. I'd wager that magic is far trickier than can
be easily explained with strong "CAN's" and "CANNOT's"
