Actually, if memory serves me right. Talon IS an elf.
Talon is the alter ego of FASA writer Steve Kenson.

Funny story there. About 1992, just before FASA put out SRII, and long
before I knew crap about the internet, I was in a Shadowrun APA called
Scrawls From the Sprawls.
For those who don't know, and APA is an Amateur Publishing Association -
basically a snail mail mailing list.
Anywho, both Kenson, Tom Dowd, and artist Dan Smith (Smif) were in this group.
Apparently Dowd saw some good work, and passed along a good word for the
other two!
Smif even included a little inside joke in one of the illustrations for NAGT
Real Life.
On a page near the front, there's a pic he drew of a girl. On the shoulder
of her jacket is a patch that reads SFTS (Scrawls From the Sprawls)

This was all well and good except for one thing - Kenson is a recycler!
I had all the Voodoo stuff, the Psionic stuff, and the physad stuff back in
1992!
Awakenings really wasn't all that new for me!
He also recycled the adventure "Two Solitudes" that appears in Shadows of
the Underworld. All he changed was that he made the main character
homosexual instead of hetero. Bummer - lack of new material!

Is the same merc/sammy that has worked with Dirty Dirk in 2XS and elsewhere.
