Ouch! At least I live in Arizona. 'Course I'm lucky in the fact that my
players are able to seperate player knowledge from character knowledge,
should something like this happen. They know about the election and the
assassination, but they also respect my right to alter our realm from
FASA realm at any given moment. Throw your players a twist, have someone
else win the election, change some of the instances around the
assassination (maybe even post-pone it or don't have it happen) it's
your realm, you don't have to match the FASA time-line if it jepordizes
you're game.

Still I understand the GM frustration...
