Your opponents proficiency with his weapon starts to mean considerably
less when circumstances are in your favour. Also, guns are one of the
most effective ways of dealing with your missions. When was the last
time you saw a players clandestine well-planned stealth intrusion ever
work properly ? There was a thread abouyt this a few weeks ago. If you
go for some sort of James Bond approach, and it fails you are royally
screwed. You need to know lots about your enemy for this to succeed.
Complete knowledge of the security systems at least. From what I've
seen, this information doesn't get given to players too often. If you go
for a heavy assault, and it fails, at least your properly equipped to
fight your way out. Sometimes it might even work if you do it quickly
enough that the defences don't get time to rally or react.
The requirements for a successful non-gun attack are bigger than your
standard assault. You can at least improvise if you've got your guns.
