How very interesting. Although I haven't read companions yet, and have no
idea how the system you gentlemen are describing actually works, it sounds
very, very similar to a set of character creation rules that I got off of
Paolo's excellent web site. In essence, the rules that I now use for
character creation just extend the gradient for the different priority
levels (instead of having 5 different levels, there are 15), and gives the
player a fixed amount of points to create a character with (31), so the
character can spend 12 points in say, attributes and skills, instead of
having an automatic misbalance. Sounds like FASA liked how the person who
created those rules did 'em, and borrowed liberally.
