The way I ruled this particular endaevor was to allow the magicians to
join their pools, just like for regular rituals.
I also applied the mixed tradition penalties, and then winged the rest.
If memory serves me right, they did have to undergo an astral quest to
find a psirit that would fit both traditions.
I kinda assumed that a city spirit would have more in common with a mage
than any other nature spirts.
Likewise, an earth elemental seemed more appropriate for a shaman to
summon.
The resulting spirit was a mix of the two. :-)
