If a mage is casting a spell of Force 6 or higher, there's a really good
chance people will notice it. There are specific rules for it in the book,
(something like perception test at a target of 8-the force?), but
regardless, there's going to be a visible manifestation of the mana around
the person. If he/she is centering, there's also going to be the
chanting/dancing/whatever to make even more noise. It depends on the spell
as to exactly what the manifestation is, but for most, it's going to be a
glowing aura around the character. Visible in normal space, of course. It
gets brighter as the spells get higher. IMHO, any spells higher than force 9
probably start to get atmospheric effects also. You know, clouds start to
gather, earth shakes, things like that. No real effects in game turns, but
you'll definately wake people up.
