Well, I ran the first part of my Friday teh 13th: The Series Shadowruns
tonight, and I must say that it went very well.

I decided to start with the boxing gloves as the first cursed item to hit
them with, and while it was a rough night for them, they came out well ahead
of the game.

The shaman character, and his sister (an NPC), inherited the antique shop as
I planned. While they were checking it out, they met Jack when he broke in
to try and burn the shop down to destroy the cursed items.

Anyways, they talk, and he tells them about the cursed items, and he
convinces them to help him get the items back. And the first way to start
is by retrieving the boxing gloves, because he knows where they are.

A kid at a local boxing gym used to be the local joke. he'd gotten beaten
fairly badly in the few matches he'd been in, and had been relagated to
sweeping the floor at the Gym. Suddenly, though he had been unbeatable.

The boxing gloves had belonged to a boxer in the 1960's named "killer"
Marcelli... and the gloves had Killer embroidered onto the wrists in gold.
He had been an unbeaten champion for seevral years, and then one dayhe
killed someone during a match. Hit him so hard that the man brain
hemmoraged and died right there. "Killer" Marcelli renounced his title and
retired from the sport, unable to live with the guilt he felt.

The gloves, however, ended up in teh Boxing hall of Fame, but when the hall
of fame went bankrupt, the gloves went to a series of collectors, before
finally ending up in the antique shop, where they were cursed when Lewis
made his deal with the devil.

The manager of the local gym had bought the gloves to put in his trophy
case, and after "Terrible" Tommy stole them, the manager became the first
victim to the curse. When Tommy first stepped into the ring after stealing
the gloves, he felt invincible, and proceeded to beat the daylights out of
his opponent, a fellow boxer who expected an easy fight. Meanwhile, tommy's
shadow appeared in front of the manager who had mocked Tommy, and killed him
by beating him to death.

Over the course of the next several weeks, Tommy fought five more matches,
winning everyone of those, and accompanied by five more deaths, two of which
were also people that Tommy hated. However, nothing could be proved, as
Tommy had been fighting in the ring during each murder.

The players start investigating things two days before Tommy's next match,
giving them two days before the next murder.

Well, my players went down to the Gym and started investigating. Two of my
guys, the rigger and the merc decide to try joining the Gym, and arrange for
tryout friendly boxing bouts.

Well, the rigger is a struggling-to-reform munchkin, but he has no unarmed
or armed combat skill, and he made the mistake of asking to challenge the
biggest, nastiest fighter there. needless to say, he was knocked out in two
hits.

The Merc, on the other hand, had a much better chance, as although he has no
bio- or cyber-ware, he has high attributes and skills.

Well, eventually the rigger managed to royally piss off Tommy, and got the
Merc character into a boxing match with Tommy, and himself thrown out of the
Gym (He's not reforming from munchkinhood as well as I'd like.). Well,
Tommy proceeds to whip on the Merc, While the shadow goes after the Rigger,
and strats thrashing him. I gave him a break, though, and let him get to
his truck in one piece, though beaten up pretty good. he started up the
truck, hit the lights, and found out how to beat the shadow... Bright
lights make the shadow fade.

Meanwhile, teh Merc was boxing Tommy, and at one point Tommy threw his arms
in front of his eyes, and teh Merc got his only hit in on Tommy. They
managed to put two and two together later on, and figured out how to beat
Tommy. Whenever something affects teh shadow, it affects the boxer too,
though only ligh hurts teh shadow. It's immune to everything else,
including magic.

During the fight the next night, the Rigger made it a point to let Tommy
know he was leaving right before the match began, while the merc stayed for
the match. The Shaman, hid in teh truck while the Rigger stood out in teh
parking lot and waited with a flash-pak and flash grenade, one of which was
held with the pin pulled, so that if he dropped it, it would go off.

Well, as predicted (and planned), the shadow showed up, and although it
managed to surprise the Rigger and almost kill him (one box above dead:)),
they hit it with a couple flash grenades, and this distracted Tommy, who was
boxing at the time, and his opponent managed to take him down. The Merc was
then able to grab the gloves from the unconcious Tommy, and get out.

Overall, it wasn't a bad little game session. Since the next few adventures
will be based on these artifacts, and they won't be doing runs to get money,
I also left the Shaman a sizable amount of cash, that he splt among the
other two players, so that tehy have some cred to work with.

Any questions, comments, or suggestions? Oh, and if you have any other
ideas taht might work well along tehse same lines, let me know. I found out
Jamal, who plays my Rigger is no longer on the list due to compy trouble,
and Matt, who plays a bodyguard, is on the list and unable to play with us
for the time being, so unless theirs too many complaints, feel free to post
your ideas here so I can get more feed back...:)
