Barrel length. It's startling the difference in 9mm ballistics if you
compare - say - a Beretta 92 pistol and a H&K MP-5 submachinegun. What's
the difference? Longer barrels. Hence higher velocity (since the
propellant has more time to burn, and longer in which to accelerate the
bullet down the barrel) and higher damage.
