Longer barrels reduce muzzle climb, simple inertia: they also make
compensation more effective (again basic mechanics: longer lever arm).
Not enormously significant, but the effect's there.
Plus shorter barrel equals lighter weapon equals more felt recoil.
Compare shooting a 2" and 6" barreled .38 Special.
