You're right, they would. Which is why they don't. That and because Stun
damage doesn't (in game terms:) represent "real" damage-like open wounds
and similar bits and pieces.

Quoted from what FASA posted concerning shapeshifters as PCs on the
Internet. So, I would rule that regenerate mages would still have to
check for Magic loss...as for casting spells with physical drain, I think
the above limitation would work for a nice equalizer:)
