One thing that worked for me was to first run an adventure around the
bottle from Bottled Demon in ED, then follow that up by running Bottled
Demon in SR. Aternatively, if you feel like converting character stats
from one game to another, have the SR characters travel to where Parlainth
is in ED and discover some man-made tunnels there (to be precise, the
Western Catacombs -- see Secret Doors on page 37 of the Parlainth GM
book).

I decided to only let them die for the current section, and come back in
the next. The only time a PC died in HB was when a male samurai stepped
out of the boat in the Arthur-legend part, onto the island where all the
women lived.

The ones from the back of the book, so that was 61 points per character,
except for the sam who died: he got 10 points less.
