It says, and I quote: "Threat/Professional Rating: Force/4" which is a
shorter way of writing "Threat Rating: Force, Professional Rating: 4". An
explanation of both threat and professional ratings are on page 187 of the
SRII rulebook, and not something they cooked up for Bug City alone (not
that I'm saying you said/suggested that, I'm just trying to avoid
_another_ one of those huge, out-of-control discussions we've had some
time ago...).

Saying "absolute crap" is absolute crap. If I throw a force 6 to 8 spirit
at just about any PC that I myself have seen in a game, that PC would be
in serious trouble. There is no opinion involved here (so don't try and
twist it around :), it is a simple statement of what I've seen in a game
situation.

I don't quite follow you. Are you saying a GD with a Magic rating of 25
eats insect spirits for breakfast, or that the dragons scared shitless of
them?

You know, Brian, I think I must have done something that really pissed
you off in a previous life... Every time something comes up that you don't
agree with, you start talking about the way I run games as if you've been
playing with me for years -- I dare you to find where I said I changed
*anything* about the threat ratings of spirits.

More bullshit based on your *opinion* rather than my *comments*. I don't
like differences in the way PCs and NPCs get treated -- I think that
anything a PC can do, an NPC can do as well, and the other way around. The
reason I use Threat Ratings for NPCs instead of giving them dice pools is
that TRs are easier on the bookkeeping (and I _did_ use pools for NPCs for
the first year or so that I GMed SRII, so don't tell me I never tried it).

"The guideline" for insect spirits is to use the full Force for TR, and 4
for Professional Rating (IOW, they'll fight to the death). This is from
Bug City, which you're of course free to ignore, though may I remind you
that you're the one who seems to think that it has to be in a book to be
an official game rule.

So are the rest of us. It looks to me like you don't want to take what
they're sharing...
