I think what happens is that the telecom grid discovers it has a cyberdeck
on the line, and instantly switches the deck through to the relevant
LTG or RTG, making it appear to the decker as if he/she entered the matrix
itself instead of going through the telecom system first.

OTOH, the Jackpoints section o VR 2.0 (pages 28 and 29) says legal
and illegal access points are tridphones. I think I might revise that
slightly and call those "matrix access points" or something, that are
specifically designed to handle cyberdecks and their signals (sort of like
a true internet connection as opposed to dialing into a provider through
the phone line), while decking through a phone line gets a lower bandwidth
Maybe like this:

PHONE LINE
Trace Factor: -1
Access: +1
Base bandwidth: 15
An access point, either legal or illegal, created by jacking a cyberdeck
into a tridphone. It is easier to trace because the phone company computer
knows where the call is coming from, and because of the extra routing
(through the telecom line) access is more difficult and bandwidth is
lower.
