As BJ would say the relative humidity and a cow from space are enough
reasons for this to happen. The reason for most wanton destruction is to
restore balance. It generally not out of spite. Most gm's get distracted and
occassionally let something that will affect game balance later by. When it
finally does throw things out of whack he/she has the right to remove it and
restore what he/she views as a nominal balance. If a player think he/she is
being treated unfairly take outside the game and discuss it. While the
player 9 times out of ten won't agree with the balance issue. Players like
all the advantages in their favor. Most Gm's don't feel like dropping a tank
on somebody to even things out as the lower power pc's will get slaughtered.
A balance needs to be kept in mind. Players don't think about this and don't
care they want all the aces up their sleeve. Besides unless you're using the
old and lame "I run for the thrill" excuse all the money tied up in goodies
should have been put towards retirement so a pc can leave the shadows and
return to a life of normalcy. As for the loose ends thread not many players
try to keep their loose ends out of their lives. They expect the gm to
ignore things like heading staight home after a job and hitting the sack.
When they should have waited awhile and made sure they weren't followed.
