actually been shot while wearing body armor, nor seen anyone else get
shot in body armor, I can't be sure, but that just doesn't seem right.

A friend of my dad's was in Vietnam. While on a patrol his unit was
ambushed and he had the misfortune of being hit four times in the chest
and abdomen by an AK--none of the rounds penetrated, but did knock him
down, broke four ribs, and laid him up in a field hospital. Whether or
not the round penetrates, there is still a hell of a lot of kinetic
energy that hits the person.

And this led me to an interesting theory for a house rule...correct me
if I'm wrong (please) but there are no rules for knockdown unless the
round penetrates, right? (no books handy)

Anyway, I'd like to hear thoughts on a rule...maybe someone uses one
already (hell maybe it's in the book:))...intended to use knock down, or
a chance of knock down even if the round doesn't cause damage, but still
hits (i.e. the round doesn't cause damage but WASN'T dodged by combat
pool etc.). I'll think about this at work and be terribly embarassed if
there's existing rules covering this in the rules :)

Thanks,
Jim
