Change is good. I despise Combat Pool, I want skill-based defense pool back so
people with no skill at hand-to-hand are actually screwed when they face it (as
opposed to 2nd ed, where high attributes may easily save you, no limit on CP
dice added to defense); I despise it also for the insane boost to attack
ability it can give.

Been thinking about this, and my conclusion was that it'd be better if
*variable staging for reducing the damage by the target, but
*standard 2 staging for the attacker increasing the damage
This overcomes the difficulty of staging damage up with the nastier weapons in
SR1.
