Since the point of the game is to have fun, I would not find either of
those 'pathetic', although I would myself prefer to play in the realistic
campaign.

And I agree that rules should not be changed to agree to an 'average'
willpower. Thats what I like about having a few variant rules to pick from,
you can pick the one most suited to you. If one of them isn't suited to
your group, you're likely to just make up a new one anyways..
