Don't you mean GW, i.e. Games Workshop, instead of Game Designers
Workshop (GDW)? The former is the big British company from Nottingham,
(in)famous for the Warhammer series and, through Citadel, a HUGE range of
metal and plastic figures with weird body proportions; the latter used to
publish wargames and RPGs such as Traveller and Twilight: 2000, but went
bankrupt in January 1996. I don't think anyone would want to take over
GDW, for starters because AFAIK it doesn't exist anymore...
