Nottingham is about 200 km (IIRC) to the north of London. Depending on the
distances you're used to, that may be closeby or very far away :)

That more or less happened to me last year. I was in London in early
September, and while I'm in a game store the guy says "We've got more for
that game, but they're taken it up to GenCon"...

I don't know what it'll cost to get in for a single day; I've booked a
room for four days and that runs between 65 and 85 pounds including entry
to the event.
