In most cases, that's better than the normal round. With a final (adjusted
for burst) Power level of 4 or 5 it doesn't matter, and with a PL of 1, 2,
or 3 you're better off firing regular rounds when it comes to knocking
down the target.

Nothing, AFAIK; they're only fired from "large-bore weapons such as
shotguns" (SRII p.241). Just what constitutes a large-bore weapon is not
explained anywhere, but the only thing that would qualify IMO is an
assault cannon, and they have their own ammo types.
