AFAIK They are not.
TSoD is IIRC tied to Celtic Myth.
The spear that peirced Christ's side was called IIRC The Spear of
Longuinus?

Again, this is to the best of my knowledge.
I do like the whole setup for your plotline though!
DeVries is a very interesting character IMO, and he makes a great tool for
introducing PC's into vampires.
